On long term goals and Jogging

anyways, enough of that.

Whit and I have taken up jogging. Which means that the game is afoot. I’m actually getting serious about this now, I’ve decided I’m not going back to school, I’m going to join the RCMP. What that means is that I have roughly two years to get into shape before I can take the tests (two years because I need a full G license, something I’m woefully lacking) So I’m going to start in on that right away. That, and I’d like to be in shape for the big airsoft game at pine plains next year. So we’re eating better, exercising more, and generally being more healthy. It’ll be tough, but worth it in the end.

I find with myself though, that the general problem isn’t eating; I can eat as much or as little as I want, and I stay around the same mark, healthy food or unhealthy. I think what’s going to make the real difference for me is proper exercise, and for that I’m either going to need to get into a gym or get the equipment for at home; but that raises two new sets of problems. For the gym: my current work schedule between two jobs doesn’t allow for a lot of flexibility, I’m working a few nights a week, and that can be subject to change. What I’ve realized is that I’m going to need something stable to allow me to work out at night, and to allow for time to cook, since NOT cooking is really have the cause of my current situation. Not to mention the fact that I don’t really feel like working two minimum wage jobs for two years. That’s pretty lame. As for the second problem, well that just requires space and money, and we’ll have more space soon enough (We’re in our new place in august) and for money; well, used exercise equipment tends to be pretty cheap, so I’m good there I think.

But yeah, so, long term goal now.

Jogging

It’s finally been a productive healthy activities day:D I walked to and from work  (which is typical of me at least once a day and is a 3km distance) and Adam and I went jogging for the first time after work.

We’re starting small at 1km every night and working our way up so one of my lungs doesn’t spontaneously combust…and I’ve found out that I’m so disgustingly out of shape
Hopefully that will change soon

A Challenger Appears!

Awww yeaah, it’s about to get over 9000 in here!

I’m going with the old adage that the third time is a charm this time around and hoping it stays true.

I’ve definitely been feeling the bulge and I’m prety upset with myself about getting some serious progress at the gym and then letting it all slip away. I promised myself that instead of being all hardcore, I’d start with small acheiveable goals and really get a strong foundation of good habits forming.

So this weekend will be a good starter with a good healthy meal at Randi’s house along with a nice long walk for some cardio. Next week I have promised myself to hit the gym at least three times, although 5 would be optimal. I won’t be able to just jump back into things as I’ve found out the hard way so I’m just gonna get back to basics, work on my form and more than anything, consistancy. I don’t have to work out until I puke, just consistant workouts to get myself into a more reasonable shape….other than round.

So the goals this week are to eat healthi….er and work out lots and get that metabolism cranked, once I get a solid routine down, I’ll start the measurements and the micromanaged plans. For now, it’s a broad goal so that it’s more attainable.

I’m so excited!! I’m shedding the Anime North weight I gained really quickly! Another 1.5 lbs down in a couple of days is great, now I only have 6.5 lbs left to go for my mini goal :D

So…I’m cutting Ran some slack since she’s sick but I’m not cutting you any Josh…get your ass on here or so help me god I’ll hunt you down

I lost 4 lbs this week!! I cut out junk food and downed my portions a bit but I haven’t even started working out…this progress definitely makes me wanna step up my game and maybe reach my mini goal a little faster

I’m going to head to the gym a little later today maybe take a pilates class and go on the elypical.

So here I am for a third try..this is sorta shameful I’ve put off everything for commissions and Anime North and as a result have gained almost 11lbs back…for my current weight that is a huuuge setback, its gonna take at least 2 months to lose that and it makes me very upset that I let this go so far. I never want to get back up to what I was before and I’m only 15lbs away from doing so.

I’ve decided that I just need to balance out my life more…..that life is busy and its never goign to fully die down and give me a chance to eat and work out perfectly so here’s my third and hopefully last attempt at this.

My current weight is 181lbs and my mini goal is to be back down to 170lbs by the end of july my long term goal is to get down to 145lb

Sad Truth

Yesterday I was trying on my bathing suit for Florida and my Mom said it looked like I had packed on a few pounds…harsh but true and I think that comment was greatly needed. Even after starting this up again last week I have done absolutely nothing but hinder my weight loss…all I eat is takeout and junk food and while being busy getting ready for anime north I have completely stopped going to the gym. I realised yesterday that being busy is not an excuse as everyone in the world is….so now that I don’t have to bring Dud into work every day I’ve decided to start going to the gym in the early mornings when I’m still fresh.

I went today and did 35 min on the elyptical and a full round of the weight training machines, since it’s in Loblaws I was also able to pick up some healthy food for today:)

Back for a second try!

I think we needed this site for helpful encouragement and as a place to really get a chance to reflect on what we’re writing. If we have a bad day, we have to think about it as we write and feel bad about it. Hopefully it also motivates us to do better the next day; we’re only human after all.

I unfortunately do not have a means to weigh myself currently so I won’t be putting up any starting stats just yet. When possible I will use Randi’s Wii Fit to get an approximate look at where I’m at. My goals remain the same as last time; lose fat, gain muscle and stamina and eat a whole lot better.

Work has been extremely stressful over the past 3 weeks and has lead me to eat more and hit the gym less. I’m about to renew my membership through work and continue on working my ass off sans personal trainer. I think I got the basics of what I need to achieve my goals and will be making a huge push to get it done. The summer is fast approaching and I have no intention of being embarrassed to take my shirt off. I plan on showing off the tan and the guns and I’m not talking about the ones you need a permit for * wiiiiiiiiiiink *

I’m going to start writing down everything I eat starting tomorrow along with any and all activity I do. I’m extremely visual when it comes to learning and forcing myself to look at what I’m doing, or in many cases, not doing should benefit me greatly.

For now, I’m going to go eat some delicious and healthy fajitas (no Whit, not Vegetas ) and watch the game.

Let the challenge….re-begin!

Small Goal: 5lbs by Anime North

Ultimate Goal: 145lbs

I redid my starting numbers:( as you can see I’m actually up 2.5 lbs from the first weigh in we did last time. This really sucks but motivates me even more to lose and keep the weight off.

I got these fancy new shoes that are supposed to help tone your legs and bum more when you walk:) I hope they work!

As for my new fitness goals I’m thinking of canceling my gym membership because it’s going to waste and it’s a lot of money for nothing. Instead of the gym I’m hoping to do more outside activities, maybe even take up jogging or join a sport. We also get a new 3 bedroom apartment in August and its on the basement floor so I’ll be able to set up my elyptical and DDR again!!

Getting the Ball Rolling

Hey guys, so Josh and I have discussed getting back into this! We should start off with a brand new weigh in and maybe a starter goal (10-15lbs) we should also get in the habit of posting every day to make us more  accountable for our actions.

I’ll post my weigh in results tomorrow…unfortunately, I think they will be slightly higher than the first time we did this…but all the more reason to start this up again
